How to download the latest Joomla version and install it on your server

Description
  • For this tutorial you need to go to the website http://www.joomla.org
  • Scroll down and right and click on the Download Joomla option.
  • Scroll down and click next to the version you wish to download.
  • Save the file to the desired destination and make sure save file option is selected and click on OK.
  • Unzip the file and then double click on the folder.
  • Now you will need to use the FTP client such as FireZilla to upload joomla to your server.
  • Make sure you have entered your details and are connected to the server before proceeding.
  • Select the entire files by CTRL + A and drag them to the directory you want to upload them to.
  • Once all the files have been uploaded, go to the new Joomla site in your browser.
  • It’s now time to install joomla on your server. Firstly start by choosing the language and click next.
  • For the installation, we need to make the configuration.php file writeable. Go back to the directory where you have uploaded Joomla in your FTP account.
  • Scroll down to the configuration.php-dist and rename it to configuration.php
  • Now right click and select file attributes and change the numeric value to 777 and click on ok. Return to the joomla installation in your browser.
  • Click on recheck to confirm if all requirements are met and then click on next.
  • Now, you can read the license information click on next.
  • On this page, you need to enter your database information. Fill all the details and click on next.
  • This page allows you to make the FTP account that will be used to access only your joomla site and not the entire web server. Select yes to enable FTP and enter the details and click on next.
  • Now, on this page, after entering the other details, click on the install sample data option. Wait until the data has been installed.
  • Click next, and Joomla has been successfully installed.
  • Before you can use your Joomla site, you need to completely remove the installation directory. This can be done through any FTP manager.
  • Once this is done, click in Site.
  • Here you can view your Joomla site and this is the end of the tutorial.
