How to find and install packages for SMF

Description
  •  Packages are modifications for SMF that can be installed to enhance your forum.
  • Go to Admin>Packages.
  • In order to install a package, you will need to start by finding one and downloading it.
  • Go to download packages, SMF connects to package servers to find out the available packages. There should be one default package.
  • Browse to retrieve a list of packages with recent versions of SMF, you may receive an error while connecting to package server. If this happens, return to download packages page. Add a new package server in URL field and the problem will be solved.
  • You will find a list of packages on server, divided into sections. Click a sections link to view the mods in this section.
  • Find a mod you want to install. Click its download link. The package will be automatically downloaded into your server. Click apply mod tab.
  • You will also see the required actions of SMF to install in the package. Click on install now button.
  • Package will be extracted and installed.
  • You can always browse for mods on SMF’s website. http://mods.simplemachines.org
  • You can download any mod from this website.
