How to download and install PrestaShop

Description
  • PrestaShop is a free shopping cart system. Before you can begin installing it, you will need to go to http://www.prestashop.com
  • Click Downloads tab. Optionally, you can enter your email and information to subscribe to updates and click on Download button.
  • Click Download button to continue. Choose the location to which it needs to be downloaded and click on Save button.
  • Once download is completed, browse to where file is located and unzip the folder. Upload the entire folder to your server. For this tutorial, we will use FileZilla for this purpose. Enter hostname, username and password. Browse the folder where you want to upload PrestaShop.
  • Double click the folder to open it. Press Ctrl+A to select entire folders. Drag and Drop files to Filezilla. All files will be uploaded to your web browser and enter address where you upload PrestaShop.
  • Now, you will have to go through steps to install PrestaShop. Agree to license conditions and click on Next button.
  • Default information will be displayed on next screen. You will be required to create database on server before continuing. Enter details and click on Verify Now button to continue. If you see Database is connected message, PrestaShop will be successfully able to connect to your database.
  • Click on Next button. Fill in Merchant Admin information. Click on Next button, when done. PrestaShop will be successfully installed. You have the choice to view your store front or go to admin panel to begin setting up your store.
  • Prestashop will be installed.
