How to use the backup feature in cPanel

Description
  • Log into cPanel.
  • Go to files section and click Backup option.
  • The backup screen will be displayed where you can backup and/or restore files in your hosting account.
  • Manual backup section of screen will be displayed. There are many ways to take backup of files depending on the type of files for which you want to take backup.
  • You can backup only the home directory of your website by clicking on the Home Directory button on the window.
  • You can also take back-up of MySQL Database from within your account by clicking on Databases button. It is also possible to take backup of those files in specific subdomains or filters by clicking on the domains mentioned below databases.
  • Database Backup explanation: Click Databased link. Fill in details for generating a full backup. Click on Generate Backup, when done. A full backup to remote FTP server will be created. Go to Home.
  • Backup of home directory to local computer: Click on Home Directory button on the screen. Browse and enter the location of backup to restore a home directory. Click on Upload after selection. Files will be restored.
