How to reset your Joomla admin password using a custom PHP script

Description
  • The approach of this tutorial is different and it shows what it takes to write a custom php script that will change your Joomla password. This is mainly for the technologically curious Joomla users.
  • Open your favorite text editor. Follow along with the exact typing.
  • Follow all the instructions and make sure you save the file in the php format. Once you are done with it, type the url to your Joomla site followed by the name of the php script.
  • Now, as the file has been uploaded, we will check that it worked.
  • Type your username and password, and login.
  • Now, let’s change the password in Joomla. Click site and go to user manager. Click on the user.
  • Change the user password and click save.
  • That’s it, the password has been updated. It would be best for you to delete the script form the server.
