Web Hosting guide for Beginners

Web hosting is an Internet service that allows companies and individuals to create their own space on the Internet. Web hosting companies have servers that are called data centres. The data of customers is given to the web hosting company, which is stored in data centre.

There are many web hosting services available, which mainly range between Free web hosting to Dedicated web hosting. Free web hosting is totally free and the customer does not pay anything, except the setup amount. This is more suitable towards people who are just beginning to have a website on the Internet or for individual users. A paid web hosting company will charge for their services and offer many more features to their customers. This is ideal for small companies that are going to be expanding or for large companies or the companies, which are already established. Free web hosting will only allow for limited space and sub domains for the person’s website. Choosing the correct web hosting plan is an integral task.

There are many different free and paid web hosting companies that can be found online. The prices will depend on what type of services they offer. One can choose from a dedicated server, where one server will be dedicated to only that company’s file, or from a shared server. This is when many people are using the same server. It is best to start with a shared server to see if the web hosting company offers what is needed. If the individual is satisfied with the service and is positive about the outcomes of the company, it is then an appropriate time to move to a dedicated server, if required for your organization.

There are many benefits that can be derived from web hosting. This provides the individual with enough storage space, to keep all of their files and data to be published online. These files include web pages, images, audio, and videos. These are just a few of the files that may be kept by web hosting. Free email is the second advantage that customers can get from web hosting. This is much different than the public email addresses provided by Yahoo, Google, Hotmail or others. This email address will be exclusive to the individual’s website, which gives a more professional outlook for websites. For example, if the website is called “ABC.com”, the email can then be [email protected]. These types of email addresses are more than just handy to remember & they are important for good scale business areas. It gives an impression to customers that they are dealing with a reputed company, which has a good business growth.

Third advantage to web hosting is bandwidth. This is simply the amount of information that is transferred over the Internet. When a web hosting company provides appropriate bandwidth, it is easier for users to view that web page. This is especially true in the cases, where there are many images, audio, or videos on one page. Users like to have a website that is easy to use so bandwidth is extremely important part of web hosting.
